My first impression of the Novel was that it was kinda boring and that i didn't think that i was going to like it. I didn't think that i was going to like the novel because of all of the confusing names and all of the different cultures. Now that i have started reading the book i have started to like the book and thought that it was starting to get really interesting because of there cultures. The way i feel about the Igbo culture is that i think it is dumb and that the men should respect there wives better than what they do. I think this because the way they talk and beat there wives is just not the right way to go about things. Another reason is that the stuff they do is just weird and now what we are used to over here .
Two ways that the Igbo tribe is different from our cultures is that they beat there wives and there children for stupid reasons . And another way that it is different from our culture is there religion and how they are at the night time they are scared of basically everything when the moon is not out. One way that there culture is similar to our culture is that in some house holds here there are people are so strict and that is how we are over here kinda.
Blog number 2 The Igbo people define masculinity as like if they dont yell at there wive's or kids then that is a sign of weakness. The igbo men do not like to show the sign of weakness because it is just there culture. The way that men define masculinity and women in america is that we think if you dont have like big muscles or your not tall then your not all that. what i mean when i say that is that we think your not that tough because you dont have what other guys have. The way that the Igbo masculinity perceptive is similar to americans is that in the Igbo culture the masculinity is almost about how tough you are and how big your mucsels are just like in american . I dont have a connection to the igbo women and how them men are stronger than the women.
